Dr. Raghunath Puttaiah
Retd. Tenured Professor at
Texas A&M College of Dentistry

Dr. Puttaiah is a Public Health Dentist, who completed his graduate studies in Epidemiology, Dental Public Health (MPH & Residency in Dental Public Health), was awarded the first Johnson & Johnson Post-Doctoral Fellowship in ‘Infectious Disease Control in Dentistry’ at UT Health Science Center-Dental School. He retired as a Tenured Professor from Texas A&M University College of Dentistry after 24 years in state service. He is a world-renowned scientific and educational expert in Dental Infection Control & Safety.

Dr. Puttaiah has developed all his training materials, some of which are being used by other trainers within the United States and Worldwide. In 2008 he crafted the Dental Safety Standards for India which was released by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Honorable Prime Minister of India. He has helped the Russian Federation formulate a pathway for Dental Safety Standards. He has conducted over 130 research projects funded by NIH/NIDCR SBIR Grants and Dental Industries worldwide. He has presented over 130 original research abstracts, provided over 200 programs in Dental Safety at national and international dental conferences, published 7 book chapters and 33 peer reviewed original research and review papers.
