- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and TX House Bill 300 and Biannual Training Requirements.

- The landmark medical-legal cases in dental safety errors, CDC’s Dental Infection Control Recommendations (1993), Guidelines on Dental Infection Control (2003), Dental Safety Measures regarding COVID-19, and other peer-reviewed information by the American Dental Association.
- OSHA’s BBP Standards, Building, Equipment & Fire Safety, The Hazard Communication Programs, including the Globally Harmonized System in Labeling.
- The landmark medical-legal cases in patient personal, health, and financial information breaches during dental practice, Health & Human Services Publications, Publications and Directives by the Office of Civil Rights, Published Laws and Amendments by the State of Texas.

- Germicides Classification, Selection, Use, and Misuse.

- The occupational safety culture in dental practice with respect to employees.
- Need of developing and populating a comprehensive safety manual.
- How to do an exercise in understanding GHS labeling of Secondary Containers after reading a Safety Data Sheet.
- Following and implementation of OSHA Standards in dental practice during a certain pandemic and non-pandemic times, Blood and Airborne Diseases, and Post Exposure Protocols.
- Periodic safety inspection of devices including examining and tagging, and fire safety.
HIPAA & Texas HB 300
- Application of HIPAA & HB 300 in dental practice.
- How to follow the Dos and Don’ts re. PHI, Administrative and Technical safeguards.
- Understand and follow federal and local standards with respect to HIPAA.
- How to share information in a secure manner (encryption).
- Ways to improve the safety culture with respect to Protected Health Information, Personal Information, and Financial Information of Patients.
- What to do in case of a breach.

Instructer
Dr. Raghu Puttaiah, a Public Health Dentist, completed an MPH and Residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was the first recipient of the Johnson & Johnson Medical Inc. Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Infectious Disease Control in Dentistry Award at UTHSC-SA Dental School (1993-1996). In 2019, he retired as a Tenured Professor from Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas, USA. He has presented CDE Programs, Seminars, and Keynote Addresses at over 400 venues worldwide in Dental Safety.. In addition, he crafted the Dental Safety Standards for India, released by the Honorable Prime Minister of India (2008).
